The widespread Internet usage and its benefits hide also some threats. One of them is the so called Phishing.

Phishing is an email, sent from almost similar to the original address of a financial or banking institution. The fraudulent email consists of misleading message tricking the customer into logging in their e-banking account by entering their user ID and password, to check or confirm something, after following a link in the email. The web site which opens through the link is a mirror one and not the original institutional web site. The main goal is, theentered personal or financial information on this fraudulent web site to bestolen and used for fraudulent activities aiming financial benefits.

It is very important to know that Societe Generale Expressbank will not ask customers to deliver user ID and password via email. This information is confidential and has to be known only by you and you should not share it, especially via email or on fraudulent web sites.

To answer to the latest Internet threats, Societe Generale Expressbank has taken the necessary preventive measures to provide the bank’s customers with secured and reliable business environment.

For your protection, please consider the following advises:

  • To avoid misuse of your accounts, do not deliver personal data, user ID and password for your e-banking access to third parties
  • To access information related to your accounts, it is advisable to use the official web site of the bank (www.sgeb.bg) as an entry point
  • To be even more secured, check carefully the email addresses of the messages you receive.
