Rolling Museum is a joint initiative of Easyart Foundation and Societe Generale Expressbank, implemented with the support of the local municipalities. It’s main goal is to have cultural and educational impact on children.
The project was initiated in the summer of 2014 when the museum toured through the cities of Rousse, Varna, Sofia, Plovdiv and Pleven. The partnership between the bank and the foundation proved to be very successful, therefore in 2015 we’re planning on extending the scope of the project by adding new new destinations. The cities whose children will be happy to welcome the Rolling Museum this summer are: Stara Zagora, Bourgas, Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv, Varna and Sofia.
The project aims to introduce kids in a funny and interactive way to the 8 main periods of the world art history – Prehistoric time, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Impressionism, Cubism and Pop Art. The cultural artistic education is special workshops are organised. This interactive study method proved to be a working one. Trainers at the Rolling museum are students from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia who are experienced in working with children. Volunteers from Societe Generale Expressbank, who have gone through special training, are also involved in the execution of the workshops. After the last practical exercise the children can try to put in a chronological order the replica artifacts of the Rolling museum and in this way test themselves.
At the end of the day, the youngsters take home lots of smiles, new knowledge and a diploma that proves they have attended all of the workshops and successfully pass the training course on world art history.
The Rolling museum will be further developed. We plan to increase the number of destinations and the longevity of the tour.
